For three wonderful years in the late 2000s, I lived in Abu Tor, one of the easternmost districts of West Jerusalem. It's a winding hilltop neighborhood that's home to both Jewish and Arab neighbors. On Ein Rogel Street, where I lived, people might differ on the lack of a viable peace process, or on where you can get the best falafel, but they could always agree on one thing---Ein Rogel's uncanny ability to make you feel as if you were always trudging uphill. These are some of my Ein Rogel Street stories.
